Roger Larson, Hillwatch Associate
Roger has over 25 years working in government relations in the association field.
He built a small trade association into a leading industry sector organization and helped establish the reputation of the industry as an important contributor to the Canadian economy with $12 billion of production, 80 per cent of which is exported. He also established a registered education charity with educators, scientists, farmers and conservation groups.
Roger has proven competence on issues of agriculture, food sustainability, climate change, environment, transportation, safety and security standards, economic competitiveness, energy, corporate taxation, resources, and international trade.
Roger has a keen interest in developing effective public policy, linking regulatory considerations, science, global economic trends, and environmental performance challenges. He brings the ability to understand the commercial needs of Canadian industry and exporters to guide the public policy and regulatory response.
Roger holds a Bachelor of Commerce, International Economics & Finance from the University of Saskatchewan, and is a Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.) in Ontario. He is past Board Member and Treasurer of the Government Relations Institute of Canada and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in North America where he was elected a Fellow. He is a member of the Institute for Corporate Directors and the Canadian Association for Business Economics. He was awarded the Queen's Diamond Jubilee medal in 2012.
